When I see the Atomium, I am reminded of Brussels. Indeed, it is the best known city icon. So I came to this place to take this picture! It is not near the city center, but it is easily accesible by subway. It is possible to go to the top (where you see the Belgian flag) and see a great view of the surrounding area.
The Atomium shows the 9 iron atoms of a unit cell of an iron crystal, magnified 165 billion times. Do you see the 9 atoms? The Atomium was constructed for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. More than 50 years later, it is still around.
