|Address:||Autopista San Antonio, Villa Del Rosario, Norte de Santander, Colombia. 9 miles (15 km) southeast of Camilo Daza International Airport.|
In 1875, an earthquake hit the city, destroying this church. There is a lot of history here. At Templo Histórico de Cúcuta, Congreso de Cúcuta was held in 1821; the Constitution of 1821 was drafted and promulgated, which created the Gran Colombia, unifying the provinces of Nueva Granada (now Colombia) and Venezuela. Later, Ecuador and Panama joined the huge new nation. It isn’t a surprise that the flags of Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador have the same colors.
